Courses and Workshops

‘Abundant Harvest’

Friday afternoon 30th August 1.30 – 4.30 pm Explore the exuberant abundance of late summer in the vegetable garden. Visit a no-dig, organic, Permaculture garden and explore the work of the day – maintaining and harvesting crops, liquid feeding and seed sowing for a sucession of supply. There are armloads of beans,  heaps of squashes, tons of cucumbers, many types of salald and herbs for the kitchen. We will be preparing for winter crops such as lettuces and salads. This workshop is fully booked.

‘Salads, shoots and leaves – for the winter and spring’

Saturday 31st August 2.00 to 5.00 pm. Now is the time to start growing salads and vegetables for the coming winter and on into the following spring. You can avoid next year’s ‘hungry gap’ by sowing crops now. We will look at lettuces for winter growing, chard, beetroot, spring onions, rocket and a variety of other crops.  Along with a guided tour of the kitchen garden to discover the summer abundance created by no-dig permaculture growing techniques. (If you are considering joining the Permaculture Design Course in September, this workshop serves as a ‘taster’ and the cost is refundable if you book the PDC.)  Cost £20.00 Venue Tin Bath House, Whiteshill, Stroud
